POSTAL ROUTE IN NORTH SOLUND
Explore the islands in North Solund aboard the postal boat «Pandora». It leaves from Hersvik to take post and passengers through the narrow Kråkøysundet to the islands of Saltskår, Færøy and Buskøy. You can go ashore wherever you want and just arrange with the captain when you would like to be picked up for your return to Hersvik. On Buskøy visits can be arranged to Vestein ANS, a company that creates delightful products from the conglomerate mineral known as Sulestein. We also recommend you stop off for lunch at the Færøy holiday centre, where there is also a bakery. If you want to see more of this delightful archipelago, the «Pandora» can also be chartered for a trip out to Ospa once it has finished its postal route (12.3–3.00 p.m.). Here there is a wealth of animal life, and there is a good chance of spotting both seals and otters amongst the many small islands. Also in Ospa there is a war memorial to the crew of the MTB 345, who were captured here and later executed. You can also try your hand at fishing during the trip to Ospa.
